Martin Miedzowicz
Director & Founder – Evolution Tennis Academy
- Born and raised in Montevideo, Uruguay.
- Elite USTA, PPTA, and ITF and PadelMBA certified.
- Began his coaching career as a tennis instructor in Westchester while he began his undergraduate at Concordia College.
- Throughout his 13+ years of experience as a Tennis Professional in the United States, he became a remarkable tennis coach changing significantly the Racquet Program experiences of multiple facilities in Westchester, NY
- Business Entrepreneur—Innovative Tennis & Fitness Programs:Founder/ Director of Evolution Tennis Academy growing, developing, and managing programs at Tarry Crest Swim & Tennis, Pleasantville Tennis Club, Tarrytown Parks & Recreations.
- People Leader—Build & Motivate Teams: Manage professional tennis staff, assistants, maintenance, and administrative resources totaling 10+ employees.
- Trusted Coach—Customer & Board Partner: Collaborate with board of directors to define season goals, influence program improvements, and communicate updates/issues in a concise and effective manner. Foster engagement and love of tennis to members through superior instruction.
Alexa Goldberg
Head Coach
- Alexa began her tennis journey at the Yonkers Tennis Center at the age of 4, under the mentorship of the late Coach Pat Rogers. In 2014, she made her mark by winning the New York State Doubles Championship for Edgemont High School.
- She went on to attend Skidmore College, where she played doubles all four years, ranking in the top 15 in the country. During her college career, she secured four Liberty League Championships, made four NCAA appearances, and served as captain her senior year, earning ITA Academic Honors throughout her college career.
- Graduated with a Bachelor’s degree, with departmental honors, in Early Childhood Education, and later earned a dual Master’s in Early Childhood and General Education from Sarah Lawrence College.
- Currently, Coach Alexa works as an elementary literacy coach in Stamford, CT, during the school year. She has been a teaching professional at Yonkers Tennis Center for 7 years and has also coached at Sportime and Lifetime. Alexa is USPTA and Net Generation certified and has been coaching tennis for over a decade.
- In addition to her teaching role, Coach Alexa serves as the Head Varsity Tennis Coach for Edgemont’s boys’ and girls’ tennis programs. She guided two boys to the State Doubles Championship in the spring of 2023 and helped two girls secure 5th place in the State Doubles tournament in the fall of 2023.
- Alexa is thrilled to return to Ardsley Swim & Tennis, a place that holds special memories from her high school days. She is eager to share her passion for Racquets with everyone.
Diego Freire
Head Coach
- Originally from Spain, Diego Freire is a highly experienced tennis Professional with a strong background as both a player and coach.
- He played collegiate tennis at Indiana Wesleyan University from 2018 to 2022, where he was an integral part of the Men’s Tennis team. Prior to this, he competed at the national level in Spain, breaking into the top 150 players in the country.
- Diego’s coaching journey spans across several premier clubs and academies in New York such as Tennis Club of Hastings, Orienta Beach Club and Sutton East Tennis.
- He’s known for developing programs that enhance both the technical aspects of the game and a deep passion for tennis. Diego’s dynamic coaching style and dedication to player development make him a standout addition to Ardsley Swim & Tennis Club.
- With a vision to lead the Racquet program, Diego is eager to build a vibrant tennis community and help players unlock their full potential on the court.
